Emergency Preparedness

How to prepare…

NOW . . . First Things First!

We never know when disaster may strike, but there are a few things that you can do TODAY to ensure access to your money.

Direct Deposit
Your payroll can arrive in your account instantly giving you access to your funds the same day.

Service Centers & Shared Branching
GNO members can access their accounts in person at thousands of locations nationwide thanks to a cooperative credit union network. Simply present your GNO account number and a valid ID. Find  Co-op Shared Branch Locations by clicking here .

Credit Card
Rent a car, book a hotel room or secure airfare. Your GNO VISA® will provide you with that capability without exhausting your cash.

ATM or Debit Card
Either allows you access to your funds. Plus, your Debit Card gives you Point of Purchase power! Don’t forget paper checks as a back-up plan just in case merchants lose electrical power. Visit our ATM locator by clicking here.

Home Banking
FREE, quick and available anywhere you can access the internet.

Mobile Banking, Mobile Apps & Account Alerts
Have the advantage of staying on top of your account via smart phone or e-mail.

Storm Savers Account
Save year round for the unexpected emergency and have extra cash available when you need it most.

DURING . . .

Get Cash
Avoid long lines and possible closings by getting your cash as soon as possible.

Anticipate Shortened Credit Union Operations
If disaster or a hurricane is imminent, GNO will remain open as long as reasonably possible for our members’ convenience. However, we will take careful steps to protect the safety of our members and our staff by closing in a timely manner.

In the event of a hurricane, we will follow the evacuation notice that forecasts the storm as a present danger. This notice will depend on the probability of landfall in the area and the severity and forward speed of the storm. Upon the announcement of a “Recommended Voluntary Evacuation” for the parishes in our proximity, GNO can announce the closing of branches at any time.

AFTER . . .

Check for Updates
Our website and Facebook page will have continuous updates and pertinent member information. Simply visit us at www.gnofcu.com or on Facebook to stay abreast of latest news.

Stay in Touch
Contact GNO if you have a new or temporary address immediately. You may call us toll-free or send your information to us via our website through E-mail.

BE AWARE . . .

Loan Payments
Your loan payments and VISA card payments are still due on time. Don’t wait until the last minute to take care of your financial obligations.

Direct Deposit/Payroll Deductions
Your Direct Deposit and Payroll Deductions will be automatic provided we receive your deposits via ACH. If your payroll is received manually or by mail, GNO will process as soon as it has access to the payroll.
