Greater New Orleans Federal Credit Union, GNO FCU, hosted its first annual Trunk-or-Treat on October 23, 2021. Employees of the credit union participated by decorating their trunks, dressing up in costumes and handing out candy to over two hundred children in the community. The event also included games, crafts, face painting, balloon art and food for everyone in attendance to enjoy. “Sammy the Saver” made his debut appearance, as GNO FCU announced its new youth savings account program “Sammy’s Savings Club”. Youth accounts that are specifically designed for children up to twelve years of age. This new product is part of the credit union’s ongoing commitment to improve financial wellness in the community. For GNO, it is important to educate young members on the value of saving as well as introduce them to the credit union at an early age. The event helped to promote the importance of financial education to local families in a fun and memorable way.
